Owner Manager, Pro Active Resolutions
I am an experienced working accountant, business, tax advisor and educator, and I am the proud Owner-Manager of Pro Active Resolutions (PAR). The company was formed in February 1995 and offers accounting, tax, management and training services to a variety of client sectors, from private to not for profit businesses and individuals; The business has grown from a one-man operation (main office was my back bedroom) to have a good strong staff team, strong infrastructure and a good network of associates. We are a Leicester based organisation with a regional, national and International reach.
My main role within the business is strategic planning, financial management, providing the lead on tax planning and investigation work, business and talent development and delivering training and senior level coaching and consultancy.
I began my full time working life as a business & law lecturer in 1989 and then managed a successful transfer into industry and worked there for over 5 years as a divisional accountant reporting to board level.
My extensive teaching and learning background stretches over thirty five years and I have taught, trained and delivered at all educational levels and in a variety of sectors and settings, from vocational to professional, primary to post graduate, technical to the non-technical. I also teach and train professional accounting students to enable them to qualify and become members of their bodies in the UK and overseas and am a registered Oxford Brookes mentor.
On the International front I have carried out and been involved with a number of Consultancy and Training projects, these have included delivery of professional training in Russia; tax workshops to Senior Cuban Tax officials as part of a European Union funded project for the development of the Cuban Financial & Administrative Systems; development review for professional accountancy training in Tanzania, Kenya and the Seychelles.
I have been actively involved in the governance of arts and educational establishments across the East Midlands and beyond, and involved in the charitable and creative and cultural sectors for over 30 years, in a working, professional and voluntary capacity.
I also write occasional articles on business, financial and business matters for Arts Professional, a leading national Arts management magazine, tax and property matters for a letting agency and publish blogs.
Specialties include: Business analysis, development and planning, performance management, tax investigation and planning, financial and business training, charity and creative sector
My current (non-business interests) includes reading, travelling, cycling, trying to keep fit and sports (mostly armchair version these days).
